This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Built For Care platform. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.

Information you provide directly:

Name, email address, and phone number
City and state of residence or operation
Professional background and member type (operator, aspiring operator, resource partner)
Profile photo (headshot)
Organization and property information, including addresses, photos, and operational details
How you heard about us
Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

Information collected automatically:

Authentication session data (managed by Supabase)
Basic usage data such as pages visited and features used, for the purpose of improving the Service

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your member account
To display your profile in the member directory (visible to other verified members only)
To facilitate referrals and professional connections between members
To process subscription payments and manage billing
To send transactional emails (account setup, approval, membership updates)
To notify you of events, network updates, and relevant announcements
To review membership applications and maintain network quality
To comply with legal obligations

4. How Your Information Is Shared

Your profile information (name, photo, city/state, member type, bio, organization, and properties) is visible to other verified, active members of the Built For Care network. This is core to the Service — the member directory and referral network depend on it.

We share data with the following third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the Service:

Supabase — database and authentication hosting
Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
Resend — transactional email delivery
Vercel — application hosting and infrastructure
Google Maps — property location mapping

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your membership is active. If you cancel your membership and request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (such as billing records, which may be retained for up to 7 years for tax purposes).

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including encrypted data storage, secure authentication (managed by Supabase), and HTTPS for all data transmission. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

Access your personal information by viewing your profile in the app
Update your profile information at any time within the app
Delete your account by contacting us — we will remove your data within 30 days
Opt out of non-transactional communications by contacting us
Data portability — request a copy of your personal data by contacting us

8. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and local storage solely to maintain your authenticated session and remember your preferences (such as theme settings). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults engaged in professional activities. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
